Jared grew up playing guitar and writing in church and in bands. Amber grew up singing in church and doing musical theatre.
He’s a little bit country. She’s a little bit rock & roll.
Both went to school for music (Amber went for theatre as well) and after getting their associate degrees, both decided school was not for them.
In 2006, they got married.
Jared started writing with and for other artists, doing studio work, and teaching guitar at the School of Rock.
Amber started writing for other artists, doing studio background vocals, and teaching voice.
To pay the bills, Jared started playing honky tonks with a country band while Amber took on a photography business.
In 2011, they moved to the big city to follow their dreams.
In 2012, they finally figured out how to work together.
They both agree they’re better off.
Their sound is eclectic with touches of americana, glimmers of gypsy, and sprinklings of jazz, held together by a strong sense of storytelling.
They stand out from the currently popular rootsy duos with their soaring harmonies and intricate arrangements.
Recent winners of the Eddie’s Attic Bi-Annual Songwriter Shootout, Jared & Amber live in Decatur, GA and are working on their debut album.”
