JESSE TYLER was born and raised in Charlotte, NC under the musical influence of his Mother’s car trip harmonies and his Stepfather’s acoustic guitar lullabies. They both encouraged all of his artistic endeavors and also gave him a musically gifted set of siblings to play with at home.
No stranger to the stage, Jesse landed a position as a professional dancer at North Carolina Dance Theater when he was only sixteen, and for the past five years has taken the spotlight in principal roles at the Atlanta Ballet. Earlier this year Jesse caught the eye of writer Andrew Alexander who published an article in Creative Loafing, “Dancer by Day, Musician by Night,” which highlighted the artistry of both of his passions. Anyone who hears his music will agree that Jesse seamlessly transfers the dynamism and grace from his training as a dancer to his lyricism, vocal impact, and musical performance. At 25 he has already performed with a variety of industry powerhouses from Antwan “Big Boi” Patton of Outkast to Ed Roland of Collective Soul.
Jesse’s affinity for music has led him to learn from and collaborate with some of Atlanta’s finest singer-songwriters like Paul Warner and Gareth Asher. At Mr. Asher’s summer Park Tavern concert Jesse’s guest appearance on “If It Hurts,” a song they wrote together, made the patio fall silent as the combined power of their voices sent vibrations through the crowd. His recent work has gained him traction, promising repeat listeners and more spots at Atlanta’s most coveted venues.
