Peter is best known for his skillful and percussive guitar playing style. The Washington Post described Peter's music as "the subtle power of his voice, a husky, hushed baritone... understated, at once sophisticated and intimate... as cover-worthy as Randy Newman, Elvis Costello and Dar Williams. Listen: |  | Boston-based songwriter MEG HUTCHINSON just released her newest project "The Living Side" on Red House Records, and it's already being called her finest release to date. Called a "master of introspective ballads" (Performing Songwriter), she has won numerous songwriting awards in the United States, Ireland, and the UK, including renowned competitions at Merlefest, Mountain Stage NewSong Folk Festival, Kerrville Folk Festival and Rocky Mountain Folks Fest. "The Living Side" was produced by Crit Harmon (Lori McKenna, Martin Sexton, Mary Gauthier), and combines Hutchinson's raw storytelling folk style and showcases her unique alto vocals that are the hallmark of her music. These Open Mics are well attended and are once again being hosted by Attic founder Eddie Owen. He branched into a solo career soon after, and has become known both for the sheer passion he puts into his songs, but also for being a master at the layered/looping effect he brings to many of his songs. He now has a large following having released two albums and toured extensively in the UK and US. His music has made the Sunday Times London Album of the Year list in both 2005 & 2007. His YouTube video for his song "Go To Hell" has received over more than 600,000 views. Word Magazine wrote, "David Ford is the eternal thrill of a young man going way too far and yet pulling it off!" Listen: |  | MATTHEW RYAN's alt-country whose voice has been described as a "hushed rasp, with words catching like vows destined to be broken - one of modern music's most potent whispers"--a combination of influences from Tom Waits, Waterboys and Bruce Springsteen can all be heard here, but the sound and songwriting are Matthew Ryan's alone. Once signed with Interscope Records, Matthew is now an independent songwriter whose music has been featured on TV shows like "One Tree Hill." Part 1 of his latest release, "Dear Lover," is now available.

After college in Athens, GA she recorded her debut album, "Spilt Milk," for Blue Note Records. She has has taken her soulful sound on the road to open for Chris Isaak & Susan Tedeschi. Listen: |  | The melodic folk music of THE CIVIL WARS are comprised from one half John Paul White and one half Joy Williams. John Paul was born, raised, and still lives in Muscle Shoals, AL and recently had a track featured on the soundtrack for the hit MTV show, "The O.C." Joy has achieved much success in the contemporary Christian genre--earning over 11 Dove nominations (the genre's equivalent to the Grammy's) and has been honored with an ASCAP award for her songwriting. She is a long-time Attic friend who was born and raised in Atlanta and studied voice at Agnes Scott College. She left school upon receiving a recording contract from Clive Davis at Arista Records, for whom she recorded, with her band Drag the River, the album "Relentless." She now owns her own label SBS Records and has recently released her new album "Debris." Listen: |  | Athens' KEN WILL MORTON delivers solid pop country songs and is another songwriter known for his forthright lyrics. His song "Oh Lord" was recently featured on the Discovery Channel's show "Deadliest Catch." Tonight he will celebrate the release of his fifth solo effort, "True Grit," which was recently released on the NYC-based Sojourn Records (distributed via SONY/Red). Ken's music has been praised by No Depression, Harp, Paste Magazine, An Honest Tune, American Songwriter, Stomp & Stammer, Southeast Performer, Performing Songwriter, Relix, Blues Matters, Vintage Guitar, Georgia Music Magazine and more. Although active since 1992, he did not reach the U.S. country Top 40 until the late 2005 release of his single "Wherever You Are". A number one hit on the Billboard country charts, it was also his first release for Big Machine and that label's first Number One hit. Besides this song, he has sent six other songs into the country Top 40: "Love You," a cover version of Hinder's "Lips of an Angel," "Measure of a Man," "Maybe She'll Get Lonely," "That's a Man" and "Barefoot and Crazy." "This Is It," his second album for Big Machine, produced the #18 "Measure of a Man" (a Radney Foster co-write) and the #24 "Maybe She'll Get Lonely". He won the Academy of Country Music award for top new male vocalist in 2008. In 2009 he set a Guinness record for the most radio interviews in one day, when he was interviewed 215 times. Tonight's show is part of a one-man tour of listening rooms, reviving his "Acoustic Motel" tour concept from years back.
