Our open-mic is competitive and each week we pick a winner, who earns one of the coveted slots in our Bi-Annual Songwriter’s Open-Mic Shootout. Previous winners have included John Mayer, Clay Cook, Jacob Jeffries Band, and Jennifer Nettles (of Sugarland).
About the Songwriter's Open Mic
Every other Monday night, Eddie’s Attic hosts an open mic night as a forum for aspiring performing songwriters of all levels of ability. Consisting of both local and national acts, performers have ten minutes each to make the Attic stage their own. Each act performs two original songs, and a panel of judges chooses three finalists. These three are invited back to the stage at the end of the night to perform one more song. The judges then select one winner. Performers are judged in five different areas: songwriting, vocal performance, playing ability, stage presence, and audience response.

The Open Mic Shootout celebrates the end of each open mic season. Winners from each Monday night are invited to perform in front of a panel of music industry professionals voting to crown the season’s winner.
