| | | THE MILK CARTON KIDS, a harmonizing, minimalist duo, use two guitars and two voices to create a new combination of back-porch Americana and classic folk. Relying on compelling narrative, the seamless interplay between their 1950′s acoustics, well-constructed harmony lines which play more like counterpoint melodies, and their natural stage chemistry, TMCK have drawn in and excited sold out crowds across North America since their formation in early 2011. The serendipitous meeting between the two (Kenneth Pattengale & Joey Ryan) led quickly to a shelving of the solo careers each had been pursuing. While neither had been compelled to such collaboration with any of his peers before, an effortless musical complement, fast personal fondness, and like-minded view toward how to present the collaboration to their fans influenced the duo’s formation and, almost immediately, began drawing praise from varied sources. MOLLY PARDEN is a local folk singer-songwriter who recently released her latest album, Time is Medicine. Her enticing, gentle voice has led her to collaborate with artists like Tyler Lyle, Peter Bradley Adams, and Besides Daniel. Elizabeth Smith once stated, "Somewhere nestled between the warmth of Mindy Smith's melodies, the peppy lyrics of Ingrid Michaelson, and the unforgettable vocals of Dolly Parton was born the musical styling's of Molly Parden." Fans of Feist and Mindy Smith will enjoy her music.

| .jpg) | | ADRON is the nom de guerre of Adrienne McCann, young singer and songwriter who has been lately rejuvenating the pop music scene in Atlanta, Georgia. Adron seamlessly blends Classical harmony with the playfulness of ‘60s Brazilian Tropicàlia, the earnestness and sentiment of 70′s songwriters like Joni Mitchell and Harry Nilsson, and the cerebral sincerity of the hymn song. Adron has infused her newest full-length record, Organismo, with an international texture and a remarkably vintage, yet highly original and polished modern sound. She adds to her songs a unique array of embellishments such as bird calls and other vocalizations, sometimes using her voice to mimic the instrumentation of a full orchestra, and sometimes singing in Portuguese and French, using language as another instrument. Her youthful exuberance and adroit musicianship together form a style both distinctive and pleasing, but it is her rare ability to meld genre, geography, and musical epochs that reveal the true breadth of Adron’s talent.

| | | KHARI CABRAL started playing bass at the age of 12 in Princeton, NJ. JULIE DEXTER is a world renowned, award-winning female vocalist who has shared the spotlight with host of cutting edge artists, including Mint Condition, Jill Scott, Bilal, Omar, Loose Ends, Rachelle Ferrell, Ledisi, Eric Roberson and Raheem DeVaughn. From Jazz to World Music, Soul and beyond, Dexter is one of an elite few whose talent can transcend genres. | | | Music City Roots', Craig Havighurst muses, "THE MOSIER BROTHERS are a bundle of positive energy, good karma and beatific vibes. Brother Jeff on electric banjo and lead vocals can hardly stop smiling, and brother Johnny cut it up on both acoustic and electric guitars. Much of their full sound and jazzy interplay was there from their days as Blueground Undergrass, but so was some uplifting songwriting, full of good news and tributes to the healing force that is music. I especially enjoyed talking to this Atlanta-based duo, because they’ve been in the vanguard of bluegrass fusion for decades and they’ve given the scene and the art a lot of thought." The founding members of Blueground Undergrass, Rev. Jeff and Johnny Mosier, join legendary Widespread Panic fiddler, David Blackmon, to create a unique blend of Americana, Bluegrass, Folk, Rock – and the progressive "JamGrass" that their BGUG and WSP fans fell in love with. With Col. Bruce Hampton’s former bass player, Kris Dale, and accomplished Atlanta drummer, Lorenzo Sanford, completing the lineup in unsurpassed fashion, this evening will be a musical get down not to be missed!

| | | CARAVAN OF THIEVES drives gypsy jazz rhythms, acoustic guitars, upright bass and violin on the foundation for mesmerizing vocal harmonies and fantastic stories. It’s theatrical and humorous. It’s musical and intense. It entertains, dazzles and defies classification while welcoming the spectator to join the band throughout the performance in momentary fits of claps, snaps and sing-alongs. If Django Reinhardt, the cast of Stomp and the Beatles all had a party at Tim Burton’s house, Caravan of Thieves would be the band they hired. Channeling pop bliss through their trademark lock-tight, turn-of-the-century, bang out a beat on anything that can take it ap- proach, The Funhouse, (operative word: fun) which has just been released on United For Opportunity, is exemplary of a band on the high road to musical perfection.

| | | THE WANDERING gathers five traditionally-minded artists from Memphis and North Mississippi and features the string work of Luther Dickinson (North Mississippi Allstars, Black Crowes) and a quartet of distinctive female voices—Shannon McNally, Amy LaVere, Valerie June, and Sharde Thomas, erstwhile leader of the Rising Star Fife and Drum band. The women are all accomplished musicians, and it was actually for this reason that Luther initially gathered them together. The record was cut at the Dickinson family’s Zebra Ranch studio in Coldwater, Mississippi in just three days, and Luther recalls that the music fell readily into place. That experience is also represented in the group’s repertoire, which includes traditional standards and classic Americana from Southern-born artists including Robert Johnson, Kris Kristofferson, Little Willie John, Ray Charles, and Sid Selvidge.

| | | For almost 20 years, every Monday night, we've been hosting a SONGWRITER'S OPEN MIC. On any given Monday, you'll get to hear some touring performing songwriters, some local touring songwriters home from the road, some local songwriters that don't tour, some up and comers working on their chops, some amateurs that will never tour, and sometimes, someone that you can look back and say I heard them when...but be guaranteed, it'll be an entertaining evening! And for $5, probably one of the greatest entertainment values in the land. For more information on playing at our Open Mic, visit the Artist Info page of our website.
